Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hello; This is my first post on this web site (If someone can help me on this nasty problem, I'm willing to stay here) A few minutes ago while i was surfing, AVG warned me that I had multiple threats. I managed to get rid of most of them but one. It's called Trojan Horse BHO.HJE Please can someone tell me - What this is - How I've got it - What it will do to my computer - How to get rid of it? I have done a full computer slow scan with AVG but it didn't detect any threats. I also went into Safe Mode to try and get rid of it from there but I don't think it worked! I can't seem to get rid of it! It's in the 'Web Shield Findings' on AVG and it says Infection: Torjan Horse BHO.HJE Object: childhe.com\pas\apstpldr.dll.html?affid=177047&vid =&guid=86CDCF432A2448AAD9DD189B624542543 Process: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe please some one help me to kill this virus? I do not want to format my computer.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I think you should try using Avast AntiVirus, its very good at removing viruses. And by the way close the process explorer.exe from task manager before you start the scan. Hope it works for you!!

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Hello; The thing you have is a browser helper object. Wikipedia says A Browser Helper Object (BHO) is a DLL module designed as a plugin for Microsoft's Internet Explorer for them. What i say is spybot. You can find it from google with searching 'search & destroy' spybot will delete it Thanks

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi, according to me A Trojan is often incorrectly called, or thought as being a computer virus, but they are not capable of reproducing themselves and therefore not a virus. Not only should they not be considered to be a virus, they should not be treated as one. Their prevention, detection and removal should be viewed as a separate issue to viruses, many virus scanners can detect a few of the more common Trojans but you should be armed with a separate detection and removal tool. So if a Trojan is not a virus, what is it and what can it do? Trojans were originally named after the famous wooden horse used in the Trojan war to win the city of Troy, as these computer programmers sneak into your PC disguised as something else, but are actually one of the most dangerous threats to your privacy and security, they are also a favorite tool for crackers who will probe your PC for ports opened by his Trojan. They can also find their way into your PC via vulnerabilities in your Windows system. To be fair to windows they do issue security patches to cover vulnerabilities as they are discovered and exploited, but you will only be protected if you keep your system fully updated. Attackers take advantage of the fact that many people simply do not update their operating systems Other ways include attachments to emails. Offers of free products, services or information, fake virus warnings, false product updates (including Windows updates), good/bad news, even the promise of nude photo's have all been used to trick people into opening the attachment Fake freeware products. There are thousands of sites offering free software products to help you do a very wide array of useful things, but they are also a popular place for Trojan makers to infect computers. yes, you might get a free registry cleaner, scanner, search engine or something to maintain your PC, but it many have a Trojan attached, waiting to capture every key stroke, every form you complete, every site you visit and open ports on your pc for other applications to be put in your computer, all without you knowing. Web sites offering cracking codes, cheats, free porn and the like can install a wide variety of applications, including powerful Trojans. P2P File sharing programs, such as Grokster, Bearshare and KaZa Good luck

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Show this info "BHO Scanner gives you a quick look at the BHOs installed on Remote PC.It is known that the browser helper objects are loaded each time the browser is started up. Some BHOs are helpful, like the Adobe Acrobat or Google, but there could be malicious ones among them that will harm your computer, especially those planted by viruses or spyware. BhoScanner allows you to discover browser helper objects of your computer including parasites and trojans."

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Avast? Never heard of that one before. But then again I'm very sceptical about anti-viruses in general and try to avoid them if possible. To me they're a nuisance, really :-)
