Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I currently have an evga gtx 285 1GB video card. I'm planning to upgrade to either 2x285(sli) or sell my 285 and get a brand new gtx 480. Which one do you think would be better (considering both performance and price).

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I would recommend selling your 285 for a reasonable re-sale amount from the enthusiasts out there, and get a 480 as its a single chip technology. You have to consider future-proofing. However, 480 runs so hot so you better get a aftermarket cooler too. Hope it helps.

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | I would personally recommend getting the single card solution ie a 480 which supports dx11, if that's what 'strykermod' meant about future-proofing.But either if you go for sli or a 480 ,first get yourself a decent PSU which is atleast 750W. However, a 285 SLI configuration beats the single GTX 480 at high resolution (say 1920x1200 or 2560x1600). If your budget allows, aim for a Watercooled Gtx 480.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thank you for the suggestions. I might probably sell my 285 and buy 480. Which psu would you think is better and why - Corsair or CoolerMaster ? Don't you think corsair is bit overpriced ?
