Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Hi; I think u should just send it back to HP, which is the safest choice but if you do not want , universal chargers can work fine on the correct settings, but honestly, they are ridiculously overpriced and very prone to being faulty. I have taken a few back since my original broke. You would be much better off finding one specifically for the dv5 on ebay. Genuine or not it would be a much cheaper option. i hope it helps Thanks

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hello, Then replacement of the battery is what you will need to do. You should be able to get a replacement battery a a reasonable price online. There is no requirement to buy an original HP battery. | ||||||||
